DLPs Recommended

We recommend 50% spares and a minimum of 2 spare DLPs for the following reasons:

The main reason for additional DLPs is to ensure that your study goes as smoothly as you will have planned! At some point in your study you may receive a DLP back late: The parent forgets to send it to you on the appointed day, or the parent forgets to record and keeps it an extra day, or someone misses sending a package on the scheduled day, etc. Without an extra DLP your schedule is now thrown off. Holidays, snow days and other weather incidents, unavoidable delivery delays, employee absences and the like can also throw off your planned schedule. And sometimes the actual implementation of your carefully thought-through plan just doesn’t go as planned!

If something happens to your DLP that is covered under warranty you will not have that DLP available during the transport, examination, and replacement times.

If you are writing a grant proposal you will find it easier to purchase extra DLPs at the onset rather than go back later to try to find funding for unforeseen additional units.

And, last but not least, although the DLPs are sturdy, accidents still happen! Having additional DLPs will ensure that your study will continue on, even if one of your participants wants to see if LENA can swim in the toilet.
